Weekend Shenanigans

This past weekend was quite busy and I was unable to find some time to look for thrifted treasures.  So in lieu of one of thrift haul posts, I will just share a few pictures of my weekend adventures while camping on the North/East side of the island.   Some friends and I spent part of the weekend at Malaekahana camping, playing at the beach, and soaking up the sun.  Sunday was quite a productive day.  We started the day off with a hike to a pretty waterfall and ended it with a swim to our own personal island for the day.  Here some pics we took during the day.

Thrifted Outfit

Once again my lovely roommate volunteered to pose for one of my awesome thrifted outfit posts.  I'm really liking the turquoise background in the photos.  Today she's showcasing some of her finds from the local Savers here in Honolulu.  Savers never really disappoints, but sometimes I just can't justify paying the price on some of the items unless it's one of their 50% sales or 25% Mondays :).

Friday Thrift Haul

Although this is a bit late, I figured I would take the time to show off my thrift finds from this Friday.  To sound a little more savvy I know call thrifting DONATING.  Instead of making a money donation to an organization I prefer to attend or visit their local rummage sale or used clothing event and donate my money and in return score some awesome new additions to my wardrobe.  The Hawaii Opera Theatre had a used clothing benefit sale this past Friday and I scored 6 new pieces to my wardrobe.  The prices of the clothing were more around the consignment shop range, but I did score some unique pieces of clothing.

Frugal Friday Outfit

Today my roommate was nice enough to volunteer for a Frugal Friday outfit photo op.  The two of us are quite the avid thrifters.  At least once a week one of us shows the other her thrifting finds.  Today she is sporting some of the threads she found on her last visit to the Pearl City Goodwill her in Oahu.

Search for the Perfect Pair of Wedges

I've been on the search for a pair of wedges this summer and have yet to find one I really like that is a price I'm willing to pay.  In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed that  I'll come across a style similar to the wedges below over the summer months.

Under $50 - Monday Outfit......

Working on perfecting my outfit pictures and I am in the process of finding a better way to take outfit photos, but until then the full body mirror opt will have to suffice for now.  I promise the next one will have a more artsy vibe with a wonderful nature background and several different angle shots.  This is the first outfit shot for the Kamoku Thrifters blog, so I figure we could make due with this for now.  Another wonderful Monday and this morning I chose to throw on a few simple pieces that I acquired over the past few months during a few of my thrift store adventures.

Thrift Haul

To start things off I'm going to share some treasures I found over the past week during my visit to some of the local thrift stores here in Honolulu.  I love going to thrift stores it's always an adventure.  You never know what you're going to find.  And when you do find one of those treasures at an awesome deal I just can't help but smile.  One of my favorite things about being a thrifter is roaming around town in my new "thrift find" and having someone ask, "wow where did you get that?"  And having the opportunity to reply back, "At goodwill or savers where ever it may be and it was only $2-$5, SCORE!!!"
