Tuesday Thrift Haul

This past Tuesday, I made a trip to our local Goodwill and found some items for me and to put up on my ebay account for sale.  Here are some pics of a few of the treasures I found.  These trips to the thrift stores are getting a little dangerous I think I may need to limit my weekly visits a bit more.  I always seem to find some really nice additions for my wardrobe or to sell.
 Men's Quicksilver Leather Slippers Flip-Flops
  Men's Reef Leather Slippers Flip-Flops
Women's Michael Kors Jersey Striped Top
  Women's Express Brand Beige Slacks
Black Coach Messenger Crossbody Purse in excellent condition
And a little sweater and striped skirt Inc. brand skirt for myself -- Perfect new work attire
If you might be interested in any possibly purchasing any of these items don't hesitate to stop by my little ebay store and place a bid.  Some other items from my closet are listed there as well so you never know what you might come across.  Thanks for stopping by to check out some of the thrifted treasures I scored this week.  Off to some garage sales this Saturday, so stay posted for weekend finds.  Have a great weekend :) and I would love to hear your comments.

Thrifting Weekend Challenge

Over the past month or so I have been selling some of my stuff along with other thrifted treasures I have found in good/great condition on ebay to help fund my thrifting problem (hehe ;).  This weekend I wanted to see if I might be able to make steady side income off of my love for garage saling.  So I set myself a budget of $20 to see what I could buy and then list on ebay.  As I am still new to all of this I am still learning the ins&outs of selling items on ebay.  After stopping by two garage sales and $54 less in my pocket my garage saling for the day was complete.  Of the $54 spent, $27 of that was spent on myself for a cool turtle canvas photo that they were selling at one of the garage sales and a waterproof backpack made out of wet okole material for future kayak adventures. So with the remaining $26 I was able to get 17 items to sell at one sale at $1/piece and 14 pieces of clothing for $5/bag and two pairs of men's flip-flops for $2/piece at the other sale.  I am going to list each of the items over the next few days.  But I just wanted to share some of the wonderful treasures I found over the past weekend.
Included in the 17 items for $1/piece were some new with tags women's shirts, Hawaiian aloha attire, a pair of tom's and a pair of nikes.  Below are pics of some of the items I think will sell and each of them were purchased for $1.
Banana Republic NWT Coral Button Down - $1.00
 J Crew Cotton Blouse - $1
 Red Women's Toms Size 7 - $1

With my previous finds I got this vintage coach leather bag from our local savers for $35.  I've been sporting this nice little treasure for the last few weeks.

I would love to hear about any of your stories of selling items on ebay as well as any of the thrifted treasures people found over the past weekend.   And if you're interested in any of the items for sale please check out my listing under the seller names of kamokuthrifters2013, hilolove, and asit5672.  Due to selling limits my mom opened up an account to help me sell some of my stuff as well.  Looking forward to hear some of your stories.....Stay tuned for the results of my weekend thrift challenge.

Tuesday Thrifted Outfit and Treasures

It's been a little over a week since I've posted.  I just wanted to take sometime to show some of the thrifted treasures I found over the past week at some of our local thrift stores here in Hawaii.

 Forever 21 Tote - $3.00
I've been using this bright tote the last few days to add some color to my life.  No complaints here.
Marco Avane Southwestern Cross body Bag - $3.00
post signatureTom's - $5.00
My nice friend bought these from me.  These were quite the find very little wear on them and I have no doubt that she will make great use of them.

Let me know if you have any favorites in particular.

I also wasn't quite successful with my June thrift budget, so it looks like I may need to sell some stuff to get back in the black for this month.  I would love to hear any thrift budgets people have tried over the years :)

Instagram Shop

To help fund my thrift habit and clear out my closet I started an instagram shop.  I'm still in the process of getting my storenvy shop completed so in the meantime I will just be using the instagram shop.  Please take a look and let me know if there is anything you would like to purchase.  Who knows one of my many thrifted finds could find a new home with you :).....

Weekend Thrift Haul

Here are some of the treasures I found over the past week and weekend on some of my thrifting adventures.  All these lovely thrifted treasures are items I found at the YWCA Dress for Success sale and Salvation Army.
 Audrey Dress - $8.00
While trying the dress on in the dressing rooms one of the other patrons made a comment that it looked cute on, so of course I had to snag.  Plus, I'm trying to add a few more dresses to my ward-robe.
 Sak Crotchet bag - $5.00
NWT Old Navy Sweater - $4.99
 J Crew Sweater - $4.99
Warren and White Long-sleeve - $4.99 (This shirt is super soft)
Jean Skirt - $5.99 (I really like the lace detail on this skirt)

Let me know if you have any particular favorites.

P.S. So this thriftaholic is putting herself on a monthly thrift budget.  I'm thinking about a limit of $40 a month.  I would love to hear about anyone else's thrifting budgets.  Thanks for stopping by.

Weekend Shenanigans

This past weekend was quite busy and I was unable to find some time to look for thrifted treasures.  So in lieu of one of thrift haul posts, I will just share a few pictures of my weekend adventures while camping on the North/East side of the island.   Some friends and I spent part of the weekend at Malaekahana camping, playing at the beach, and soaking up the sun.  Sunday was quite a productive day.  We started the day off with a hike to a pretty waterfall and ended it with a swim to our own personal island for the day.  Here some pics we took during the day.

Here's some Sacred Falls action.

Our own little island get-away :)

Stay posted for my next thrift haul or outfit sometime this week.  I would love to hear what you did this weekend.

Aloha Friday Blog Hop

While roaming the web this past week I came across the Aloha Friday Blog Hop and being that I am from Hawaii, I thought it would only be appropriate to participate.  Stop by and take a look at some other awesome bloggers if you have the chance.

Definitely looking for the long weekend coming up and I hope to stop by a garage sale or two and find some lovely thrifted treasures.

It's Aloha Friday----No work til Tuesday :)

Thrifted Outfit

Once again my lovely roommate volunteered to pose for one of my awesome thrifted outfit posts.  I'm really liking the turquoise background in the photos.  Today she's showcasing some of her finds from the local Savers here in Honolulu.  Savers never really disappoints, but sometimes I just can't justify paying the price on some of the items unless it's one of their 50% sales or 25% Mondays :).
 Tank top - (Thrifted) $5.99
Skirt - (Thrifted) $6.99
 Purse - (Thrifted) - $4.99
Sandals - (Thrifted) - $6.99

Happy Aloha Hump Day.

Friday Thrift Haul

Although this is a bit late, I figured I would take the time to show off my thrift finds from this Friday.  To sound a little more savvy I know call thrifting DONATING.  Instead of making a money donation to an organization I prefer to attend or visit their local rummage sale or used clothing event and donate my money and in return score some awesome new additions to my wardrobe.  The Hawaii Opera Theatre had a used clothing benefit sale this past Friday and I scored 6 new pieces to my wardrobe.  The prices of the clothing were more around the consignment shop range, but I did score some unique pieces of clothing.
Adriano Goldschmied cropped boyfriend jeans - $5
 HongKong Brand sweater - $10
UK based clothing company tank top - $8 (I really like the paper clip print it's so appropriate for Ms. Accountant :)
Pure (UK Brand) Top - $7
French Connection Dress - $20 (This one was a bit pricey, but I really liked the fit)
 Banana Republic Sweater - $8

I'm wearing the orange sweater as I sit here typing out this post.  I'm still in the process of finding a nice backdrop to use for my thrift haul photos, but in the meantime I just want to apologize for the not so great conference table and office cubicle background this time around.  Well that's it for now.  Would love to hear about your thrifting finds over the past weekend.

Frugal Friday Outfit

Today my roommate was nice enough to volunteer for a Frugal Friday outfit photo op.  The two of us are quite the avid thrifters.  At least once a week one of us shows the other her thrifting finds.  Today she is sporting some of the threads she found on her last visit to the Pearl City Goodwill her in Oahu.

Skirt - Converted dress for $3.99 (brand unknown)
Tank top - $3.99 (brand unknown)
Sandals - $14.99 Ross (brand unknown)
 Bracelets - $1.99 each (thrifted)
I'm still working on finding artsy backgrounds here on Kamoku street, but I must admit these photos came out to my liking.  The hedge was quite a nice background :)
